Sustainability Manager

Job Description
AirAsia is seeking to recruit a new team member to strengthen its Sustainability commitments and cascade achievable goals group wide in our efforts to meet the highest Environmental, Social and Governance standards. S/he will report to the Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) and work towards addressing factors that impact the long term sustainability of aviation.
The key duties are as follows:
- Perform duties required for AirAsia Philippines to meet sustainability require ments and best practices
- Participate in relevant meetings, forums and workshops on aviation sustainability especially in relation to the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA), Sustainable Aviation Fuel and carbon markets.
- Monitor and review CORSIA news and publications to ensure PAA is compliant with the latest regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams/relevant bodies to identify opportunities for emissions reductions and offsetting initiatives, including ministries and government agencies in the Philippines, including but not limited to the Department of Transportation, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, Department of Environment and Natural Resources and Department of Energy
- Develop carbon emission forecasts and identify short/mid/long-term targets and goals to achieve net zero, in line with the Group's ESG strategy
- Implement initiatives to improve sustainability outcomes
- Track sustainability metrics and publish annual ESG performance reports
- Communicate AirAsia's sustainability commitments to internal and external stakeholders
- Provide ESG updates when required to the PAA Management, Board and/or Board committees
The ideal candidate should be:
- Enthusiastic about sustainability and able to work on several projects simultaneously
- Creative, detail-oriented, good with numbers, and able to problem-solve effectively
- Comfortable with independently planning tasks and managing time, including the tracking and processing of information in a fast-moving environment
- Have excellent stakeholder management skills, preferably with prior experience in dealing with ministries and government agencies
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in aviation or sustainability fields
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related subjects
- Knowledge of sustainability principles and CORSIA regulations
- Conversant with Corporate Responsibility best practices and sustainability reporting
- Excellent command of spoken and written Tagalog and English
- Proficiency in using Google Suite applications
- Personal maturity and the ability to interact with a variety of people, including at the highest level
- Position to be based in Manila with regular travel required within the AirAsia network
