Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our HR team. The Employee Relations Specialist will be responsible for fostering positive employee relations and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This role will involve resolving workplace conflicts, conducting investigations, and providing guidance to managers and employees on HR-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Employee Relations Management:
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations inquiries and concerns.
  • Investigate and resolve workplace conflicts, grievances, and complaints in a fair and timely manner.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into employee misconduct allegations, including harassment, discrimination, and policy violations.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions and performance management.
  1. Policy Development and Compliance:
  • Develop and maintain company policies and procedures related to employee relations, ensuring alignment with legal requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular reviews of HR policies and recommend updates or revisions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.
  1. Training and Development:
  • Develop and deliver training programs on employee relations topics, including conflict resolution, harassment prevention, and diversity and inclusion.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on effective communication and conflict management techniques.
  • Facilitate workshops and seminars to promote a positive workplace culture and enhance employee engagement.
  1. Employee Engagement and Retention:
  • Collaborate with HR and management teams to identify opportunities to improve employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, such as recognition programs, surveys, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Analyze employee relations data and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to address underlying issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in employee relations or HR generalist role, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively resolve conflicts and build positive working relationships.
  • Experience conducting investigations and managing employee relations issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
