As such, NEOM U boundaries will extend beyond its physical facilities, to encompass NEOM and The Line, and to establish NEOM U as an institution for disruptive education and purposeful innovation' for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the world.

Role Purpose

A highly skilled and growth oriented Academic Business Analyst with strong problem-solving and analytical skills along with communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with working in a higher education setting and solid knowledge of university processes. In this role you will be responsible of analyzing, interpreting, and translating business requirements and information within NEOM U into actionable and meaningful insights. Give recommendations and support to the development of relevant strategies that align with the organization's goals.

This is a key role which will bridge the gap between business requirements, technology solutions and business objectives. This role will help NEOM U to interpret complex academic and research data and business input to facilitate the effective use of technology and its alignment with the digital strategy for the university.

The Academic Business Analyst will act as a liaison between the Digital Transformation department and the business. The analyst will provide his/hers expertise in our rapidly evolving technology portfolio and landscape.

The Academic Business Analyst is a key role in bridging the gap between business requirements, technology solutions and business objectives.

The role is to analyze, interpret and translate business requirements and translate information and data into actionable and meaningful insights, valuable recommendations and support the development of relevant strategies that align with the organization's goals.

Key Accountabilities & Activities

The Academic Business Analyst priorities are:

Requirements Gathering

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, and where relevant, suppliers to understand and document their requirements and translate these into functional/technical requirements
  • Conduct and support interviews, facilitate workshops, and surveys to elicit detailed business needs.
  • Define detailed functional requirements, process flows diagram and business cases, including GAP and Impact analysis.
  • Identify opportunities and risks and making recommendations for improving business processes
  • Collaborate with project and program managers to define scope and deliverables

Data Analysis

  • Analyze and support analysis of information and data to identify trends, patterns and insights relevant to project goals.
  • Develop and support the development of data models and define requirements for reporting and analytics.
  • Develop and execute quantitative & qualitative data and analysis familiar with common data analysis techniques and software tools

Technology Solutions

  • Evaluate existing systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify, map and monitor systems to ensure efficiency.
  • Recommend, impact assess and support the implementation of technology strategies (i.e. build or buy solutions) to enhance efficiency or improve processes.
  • Familiar working with data analytics tools, SAP solutions and new technology AI & ML
  • Expert user of MS Excel

Documentation

  • Create detailed documentation of business processes, requirements and technical specifications.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data dictionaries and system workflows.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including internal IT professionals, to ensure seamless integration of new technology solutions.
  • Facilitate communication between business and technical teams to ensure alignment with digital strategies.

Testing and validation

  • Collaborate in the development and execution of Test Plans to ensure the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
  • Validate and verify data accuracy and system functionality.
  • Collaborate across initiatives and support in test, design and deployment of solutions

Continuous improvement

  • Proactively monitor technology advancements, industry trends and best practices.
  • Propose and implement continuous improvements to enhance business processes and data management.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field is required
  • Business Analyst Certification or Project Management Certification is considered beneficial.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

The Academic Business Analyst will have:

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in technology and data principles and practices in a complex environment.
  • Proven experience of developing solutions, options appraisals, and strategies.
  • Effective communicator at all levels within a complex and culturally diverse organization.
  • A background or experience of working in or with consultancy houses.
  • Strong data analytical skills and ability to use data to guide decision-making; ability to direct and resolve ambiguous problems.
  • Familiar with latest technologies in AI & ML
  • Familiar with working in ERP systems and data analysis software is considered a plus
  • Strong Excel Skill and data visualization skills required
  • Experience with Business Process Modeling and related tools (e.g., MS Visio)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse user groups, including faculty and administrative staff, students, external resources and professional peers and success in maintaining high levels of user satisfaction in the provision of technology and related digital and support services.
