As such, NEOM U boundaries will extend beyond its physical facilities, to encompass NEOM and The Line, and to establish NEOM U as an institution for disruptive education and purposeful innovation' for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the world.

Role Purpose

A highly skilled and growth-oriented ERP SME for NEOM University with strong problem-solving and technical skills. In this role you will be responsible for understanding the business needs and challenges and for acting as an ERP expert. You will be responsible for bridging the GAP between business and IT and ensuring that the solution aligns with our organizational needs. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with higher education and SAP products.

The ERP SME will support the Enterprise Application ecosystem within the Education, Research and Innovation sector including; supporting the Enterprise Architecture, assist all enterprise resource planning operations within the University.

The ERP SME prepares NEOM U's transformation from inception, embrace digital technology, and embed digital thinking at the core of our business. The ERP SME delivers cloud technology and prioritizes artificial intelligence and machine learning.

The role holder will work closely with the business and ERP team to implement and maintain the roadmap for the future of the university. Initially he/she will fully participate in the SAP implementation project and will ensure that the solution is delivered according to business requirements. The role owner will be made the functional lead of the ERP system landscape, particularly for the specific higher education solutions.

Key Accountabilities & Activities

The Academic ERP SME priorities during the startup phase:

  • Work closely with Senior Staff and other relevant stakeholders within and across NEOM to establish and maintain an institutional planning and governance framework for information technology, including the appropriate decision making and communication structures to execute effective technology deployment and timely project delivery.
  • The Academic ERP SME will support innovation and integrated solutions in support of teaching, learning, research and innovation.
  • ERP system Management – The SME will ensure that the system is optimally configured to meet the unique needs of ERI and review and update system configurations to align with evolving business requirements.
  • Manage ERP-related requirements, including system upgrades, integrations, and new rollouts
  • Collaborate with our end users to understand their needs and challenges and translate these into system requirements and making sure ERP operations adhere to industry best practices and internal policies.
  • Participate in ERP-related projects and provide expert input
  • Demonstrate SAP functional and technical skills and manage requirements related to the ERP landscape
  • Develop and deliver training programs for users across the university and provide ongoing support to users
  • Assist in managing ERP system vendors and service providers.
  • Develop and govern the ERP system landscape.
  • Collaborating with team in new project developments and be responsible for technical delivery and functional input.
  • The ERP SME will act as a liaison between IT team and our operational business areas.
  • The Academic ERP SME will be responsible for all change requests and incidents raised by business
  • Provide support technical support in process, methodologies, business rules and operational practices in the NEOM U operating environment
  • Review documentation and provide technical and functional solutions and recommendations that require in-depth knowledge of SAP SLcM & Research solutions and core SAP knowledge.

Background, Skills & Qualifications

 Knowledge, Skills and Experience

The Academic ERP SME will have:

  • A minimum of 6 years' experience in Enterprise Application projects in a complex environment using SAP technologies. A minimum of 6 years' experience in SAP application management, configuration and development. Preferably within higher education.
  • Technical competence, having progressed through roles of increasing responsibility.
  • Experience in implementing and managing S/4 HANA on cloud and other SAP Cloud solutions
  • A strong understanding of SAPs latest offerings and roadmap, including; S4 HANA on RISE, SAP BTP and S4 HANA on cloud.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning systems, specifically with SAP solutions, including SAP SLcM and Research is required.
  • High level of knowledge of the following solutions and modules is required: SAP S/4 HANA, SAP FI/CO, Procurement, Ariba, and SuccessFactors High capability to adapt to new challenges and ability to work on your own initiative
  • Strong knowledge of SAP core modules (FI,CO, MM, HR) & Cloud Applications (Ariba & Successfactors)Experience with requirements management and the creation of TDD & FDD documents skills in training and supporting end-users of the ERP system
  • Effective communicator at all levels within a complex and culturally diverse organization
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong orientation and commitment to customer service.
  • Project management expertise includes change management in complex environments and implementing continuous quality improvement.
  • Analytical skills and ability to use data to guide decision-making; ability to direct and resolve ambiguous problems.
  • Documented experience of higher education processes.
  • Unquestioned integrity with a high energy level and a strong work ethic. Broad intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for fresh ideas.
  • Experience of working in the MENA or US is an advantage.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse user groups, including faculty and administrative staff, students, external resources and professional peers and success in maintaining high levels of user satisfaction in the provision of technology and related digital and support services

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is required
  • SAP ERP Certifications within Core ERP is preferred.
  • Project Management Certification (e.g, CAPM or PMP) is seen as advantageous.
