We are looking for a competent and results-driven Legal Officer to manage legal affairs related to property acquisition, contracts, permits, and regulatory compliance. The role requires a strong understanding of real estate law, government processes, and corporate governance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents such as land acquisition agreements, lease contracts, joint venture agreements, and construction-related contracts
• Provide legal guidance on property development, zoning regulations, and government project compliance
• Liaise with government agencies for permits, land titling, and compliance with local ordinances and national laws
• Ensure compliance with real estate, tax, environmental, and corporate laws
• Represent the company in dealings with regulatory bodies, and coordinate with external legal counsel on litigation or arbitration as needed
• Conduct due diligence on property acquisitions and partnerships
• Support corporate legal matters such as board resolutions, SEC filings, and labor compliance
• Monitor legal risks in company operations and recommend mitigating actions
Qualifications:
• Must be a licensed lawyer in good standing
• Minimum of 6-10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in real estate, corporate law, or regulatory compliance
• Strong understanding of land laws, land titling, contract law, and LGU permitting processes
• Experience dealing with government agencies is highly desirable
• Excellent legal research, drafting, and negotiation skills
• High integrity, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive information
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple legal matters simultaneously
