Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Revenue Accountant, based in Quezon City with some work from home opportunities. The Revenue Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as revenue recognition, preparing journal entries, financial statement preparation, and managing accruals. The role involves detailed analysis and ensuring accuracy in the financial reporting of the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the diligent and efficient management, accuracy, and reporting of all General Ledger activities and the end-of-period closing procedures.
  2. Ensure compliance with Statutory, Tax, and legal regulations, cash management, treasury functions, and internal control standards.
  3. Verification of account reconciliations, SOX Controls, Accounting Controls, and Compliance prerequisites in alignment with company protocols and timelines.
  4. Supervise the performance of the R2R operational team to meet defined objectives for Elsevier's R2R operations.
  5. Collaborate with onshore leaders and Manila R2R Management to establish periodic targets on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  6. Engage in managing transactions outside service level agreements, promoting a 'Right First Time' ethos, and ensuring compliance is prioritized.
  7. Support the Manila team to maintain performance standards and enhance relationships with the retained organization.
  8. Assist in coordinating activities in Manila for efficient R2R dashboard reporting.
  9. Responsible for the prompt and accurate execution of various operational accounts, cash management, accruals, tax filings, ET Importer turnaround calculations, statutory declarations, reconciliations, and numerous accounting functions.
  10. Ensure timely posting of transactions to the general ledger and produce relevant management reports for designated record-keeping units.
  11. Maintain robust internal controls and observance of accounting practices across systems, simplifying and standardizing processes.
  12. Understand all system-associated accounting tasks, participate in system upgrades, and aid in user acceptance testing.
  13. Coordinate audit operations, ensuring timely statutory audits, tax adherence, and regulatory compliance.
  14. Foster service level management meeting onshore team expectations.
  15. Coordinate escalations, cater to internal, external stakeholders, customers, and employees requiring support.
  16. Display a proactive role in internal and external relationship management, aligning activities with the expectations of the partnering entities.
  17. Collaborate with business units, controllers, business partners, relying on sound business practices.
  18. Engage in crafting effective policies in response to evolving business requirements.
  19. Proficient in a wide array of financial accounting operations, including reconciliations, tax returns, payroll accounting, and reporting, using GAAP.

Job Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 4-6 years work experience in Revenue Accounting and a degree in accounting.
  2. Experience in R2R.
  3. Experience with major enterprise accounting systems such as Oracle, SAP or PeopleSoft.
  4. Experience in medium to large company environment.
  5. Experience in business control is a plus.
  6. Experience in large multinational company preferred.
