About the Role

As a Revenue Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the full cycle of global revenue and Cost of Goods Sold and accounting in accordance with ASC 606. This includes performing revenue processes, reconciliations, reporting, and supporting audits for both international and U.S. entities. You will ensure accurate billing, revenue recognition, and accounts receivable management while collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve revenue, COGS, and sales tax issues.

What you'll do

Revenue & Billing Management

• Prepare billing validations and execute revenue recognition for month-end close.
• Reconcile billing invoices and upload revenue data into NetSuite.
• Prepare and reconcile deferred revenue schedules, sales journals, and sales tax reports.
• Review and ensure proper treatment of revenue and deferred revenue journal entries.

Accounts Receivable & Payment Processing

• Review AR subledger to ensure no credit balances remain in customer accounts.
• Ensure accurate application of cash transactions posted by the Collection team.
• Oversee the timely creation and application of credit memos.
• Collaborate with the AR Team to resolve billing discrepancies.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Perform Standalone Selling Price (SSP) analysis and maintain compliance processes.
• Review customer contracts (MSAs, ASQs, POs) for revenue recognition compliance.
• Resolve sales tax issues and liaise with U.S. state tax departments.
• Support sales tax audits and tax provisions for federal and state filings.
• Assist with annual financial audits for both international and U.S. entities.

Reporting & Analysis

• Conduct Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and Power BI reviews at the customer store level.
• Analyze stock-based compensation expenses and equity-related transactions.
• Prepare equity rollforwards and document revenue and COGS memos.
• Track and report revenue trends, identifying potential areas for improvement.

Special Projects & Collaboration

• Work cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Support, Logistics, Legal, and HR teams.
• Participate in special projects to support and streamline finance and accounting processes.
• Provide revenue accounting guidance for key transactions impacting financial reporting.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably in a global setting.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, and revenue recognition principles.
• Proficiency in accounting systems, including MS Excel, Salesforce, NetSuite, Power BI, Carta, and Avalara.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform accounts analysis and reconciliation.
• Ability to manage revenue, COGS, commissions, and AR subledger reviews independently.
• Experience handling foreign exchange currency and currency translation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
