HRIS Consultant, Workday /HR Technology Capabilities

Overview

Northern Trust is a Fortune 500 financial institution with a long history of service, expertise, and integrity. The HR Technology Capabilities team is advancing Workday capabilities, and this role supports or implements Workday with strong knowledge of the Workday HCM module. In addition to core HR, experience in one of the following areas is needed: Payroll, Time, Absence, Advanced Compensation, or Benefits. Previous experience with PeopleSoft and ServiceNow is helpful.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with HR staff to understand their business needs and challenges, elicit requirements, research options, and recommend solutions
  • Provide technical support and assistance to HR partners for Workday and other global HR applications
  • Configure the Workday application, including business processes, tasks, rules, and security
  • Administer security for Workday and other global HR systems
  • Conduct impact analysis, estimate effort, and prioritize HR technology deliverables with leadership
  • Implement, configure, and support Workday and other HR technology solutions
  • Define business requirements for and test internal and external integrations
  • Create and execute test and implementation plans
  • Prepare project documentation, procedure documentation, and training materials related to system or process changes
Skills/Qualifications
  • 2+ years of HRIS Workday support, consulting, or implementation experience
  • Knowledge of HR programs and HR systems to design process improvements and provide support
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to consult on solutions
  • Strong technical writing skills to document and configure complex functional requirements
  • Advanced analytical skills to problem solve and troubleshoot issues
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize daily
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate with teammates and HR clients
  • Curious mindset and passion to learn new technology
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
The Successful Candidate Will Benefit From Having
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Previous PeopleSoft and ServiceNow experience
  • Advanced reporting and analytics experience
