Job Summary
  1. Leads and manages overall direction and operations of the Security Operation Center (SOC).
  2. Manages the team's hiring, training, and evaluation of team members.
  3. Creates processes, assesses incident reports, develops, and implements necessary crisis communication plans.
  4. Provides updates and reports to the CTMD Head and CISO.
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Primarily responsible for 24x7 security event monitoring, incident management, and initial incident response.
  2. Provides overall direction to the security monitoring team to achieve the team's goals and deliverables.
  3. Provides technical guidance as needed.
  4. Ensures compliance with SLA, process adherence, and process improvements to achieve operational objectives.
  5. Collaborates with the rest of CTMD teams (threat hunting, incident response, vulnerability management) to ensure proper monitoring and response to cybersecurity incidents.
  6. Collaborates with ISD teams for security infrastructure improvements, threat vector identification, and use case development for security monitoring.
  7. Communicates SOC value and posture relationship with CSIERT and industry partners.
  8. Develops, reviews, and documents SOC policies, standards, and procedures.
  9. Ensures continuous skills development of team members aligned with their roles.
  10. Maintains up-to-date performance metrics for SOC, services, and tools.
  11. Creates reports, dashboards, and metrics for SOC operations and presents them to management.
  12. Manages team and vendors, oversees resource utilization, and initiates corrective actions for effective SOC operations.
  13. Assists ISD security architects in selecting appropriate security tools for incident management.
  14. Oversees implementation and integration of security tools in the network, maximizing their use.
  15. Ensures incident assessment, reporting, communication, escalation, and monitoring.
  16. Mentors the SOC team on risk management, security controls, incident analysis, response, documentation, SIEM tuning, and operational tasks.
  17. Performs other security-related duties as directed by the Head of the Cyber Threat Management Department.
