Job Summary:

The Tax and Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the company complies with all applicable tax laws, government regulations, and internal policies. This role involves accurate and timely preparation of tax returns, monitoring changes in tax legislation, assisting with audits, and implementing compliance programs to mitigate risks.

Responsibilities
  • Tax Management:
  • Prepare, review, and file accurate and timely tax returns (income tax, VAT, withholding taxes, local business taxes, etc.).
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all tax-related transactions.
  • Monitor and analyze changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on the company.
  • Provide guidance on tax implications for business transactions and projects.
  • Assist in coordinating with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Compliance Management:
  • Ensure the organization adheres to all statutory, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies and procedures.
  • Conduct periodic internal compliance audits and risk assessments.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of industry standards, government laws, and company policies.
  • Report compliance risks and recommend corrective actions to management.
  • Advisory and Support:
  • Provide advice to management on tax-efficient strategies and compliance matters.
  • Support cross-functional teams in implementing tax and compliance requirements.
  • Train employees on compliance guidelines and company policies.
