KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Routine Maintenance:

· Perform scheduled maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacement, coolant flushes, and fuel system services.

· Inspect and service driveline, transmission, and exhaust systems.

2. Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:

· Use diagnostic tools and computer software to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in diesel engines and truck systems.

· Perform road tests to determine performance issues.

3. Mechanical Repairs:

· Repair or replace engine components, fuel injection systems, cylinder heads, and gaskets,

· Service and repair transmission system (manual and automatic), differentials, clutches, and gearboxes.

· Adjust and replace brake systems (air brakes and hydraulic systems).

· Troubleshoot and repair suspension systems, steering components, and cooling systems.

4. Electrical and electronic Systems:

· Diagnose and repair electrical wiring, lighting systems, sensors, and onboard diagnostic (OBD system.

· Maintain and troubleshoot battery, alternator, and starter motor issues.

5. Safety and Compliance:

· Conduct safety inspections in compliance with Regulatory Agency for Land Transportation and other relevant regulations.

· Ensure all vehicles meet emissions and roadworthiness standards.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

· Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.

· Complete work orders, inspections reports, and service logs using management software or 'manual logs.

7. Equipment and Tool Maintenance:

· Keep tools, equipment, and the workshop area clean and in good working order.

· Perform basic fabrication and welding when necessary.

8. Communication and Coordination:

· Communicate effectively with drivers, Motorpool Supervisor, Operations Supervisors regarding repairs and downtime.

· Provide estimates on repair time.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be a graduate in Mechanical Technology, Diesel Mechanics or any related vocational course;

  • TESDA accreditation is an advantage;

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with the operations team;

  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and engine mechanics;

  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair Trucks and Prime mover Trucks;

  • Self-discipline, independent and reliable with positive work attitude.

  • Other Skills:

    • Proficiency in vehicle diagnostics, repair techniques, and preventive maintenance.

    • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, hydraulic, braking, suspension, and electrical systems.

    • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and repair guidelines.

    • Strong leadership and team management skills, with effective communication abilities.
