Position Summary

As an Engineer of Component Engineering, you will help introduce the importance of PML and PPL parts as well as multi-sourcing to Design. Make clear to DE the required action they need to deliver if it's not completed at IMP stage. Maintain the component database to its optimal status for Advanced Energy products from technology, supply, and a total life cycle perspective to support our design engineers and commodity managers on product development and maintenance. Take a proactive role in ensuring that components used are high quality, reliable, and cost-effective for developing projects. Your primary focus will require managing the component system, helping the transformation for the company, and performing data analysis specifically for electronics commodities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and define an efficient process to create an initial BOM to optimize the use of PPL, Multi-Source IPN, and PML for electrical parts.
  • Proactively monitor BOM compliance and work closely with DE to define the required actions for BOM improvement during NPI development stages.
  • Clarify with DE their responsibility to get approval from management if the defined task has not been addressed at IMP stage.
  • Ensure P/N booking requirements are followed and required approvals are secured before part number booking.
  • Conduct regular monthly analysis on NPI and define necessary actions to meet NPI model goals. Share the data in the MRMR Monthly review with defined actions.
  • Be responsible for updating the alternate database accurately and completely.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic and electromechanical components.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
  • Candidates with extensive experience may be considered for a senior position.
