Key Responsibilities
  • Editorial and Production Scheduling
  • Coordinate production timelines and ensure the on-time submission of articles, photos, and design materials.
  • Monitor deadlines and remind team members of key cutoffs for content and layout.
  • Assist in maintaining the department's editorial and production calendar.
  • Workflow and Process Management
  • Track the progress of assigned lifestyle pages from initial story draft to final layout and proofing.
  • Route materials between writers, editors, designers, and the production team.
  • Ensure all production files are complete, properly labeled, and ready for final submission.
  • Content Support and Coordination
  • Assist in compiling resources (photos, captions, contributor info) needed for features and sections.
  • Help prepare production notes, page breakdowns, and flat plans when needed.
  • Administrative and Department Support
  • Maintain organized records of past and upcoming issues, including layouts, drafts, and proofs.
  • Support the editor and team with various administrative tasks, including scheduling, documentation, and internal coordination.
  • Liaise with other departments (e.g., advertising, marketing, circulation) for materials or deadlines impacting lifestyle pages.
  • Additional Tasks
  • Assist in the planning and production of lifestyle-related events or special executions.
  • Assist in uploading content and assets to the content management system
  • Participate in editorial meetings and contribute to production efficiency improvements.
  • Perform other production-related tasks as may be assigned.

Education

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, Media Production, or related field.

Work Experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in a media production or editorial support role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with magazine or newspaper production workflows is an advantage.

Competencies And Skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Keen attention to detail, especially with schedules, files, and version tracking.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented, proactive, and able to multitask under deadline pressure.
