Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Production Planning Assistant to support our on-site Production Planner in managing production schedules and coordinating orders efficiently. This role is heavily system-based and requires someone with strong organisational skills, familiarity with ERP systems, and a basic understanding of production or assembly operations.

You will play a key role in ensuring stock availability, reserving components for shop orders, responding to planning-related queries from the sales team, and helping maintain smooth production workflows to meet customer demand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review daily and weekly production plans to support sales and production functions, including identifying priorities and shortages.

  • Assist in generating shop order paperwork to support production schedules for both bases and shades.

  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly forecasts to ensure projected production capacity is met.

  • Track incoming goods to swiftly reserve required stock for production.

  • Utilise the internal ERP system to release newly placed customer orders into production in a timely and well-scheduled manner.

  • Provide accurate, concise updates to the sales and supply chain teams regarding expected order availability.

  • Monitor the status of production jobs in coordination with the Operations Manager to ensure on-time completion.

  • Manage and respond to queries from the planning email inbox related to order timelines and requirements.

General Responsibilities:

  • Prioritise and manage workload efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Adhere to company communication protocols, procedures, guidelines, and policies.

  • Support the team in meeting operational and service delivery targets.

  • Practice effective time management and organisational discipline.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and understanding of how shop/work orders interact with stock, demand, and customer orders.

  • Basic understanding of production or assembly operations preferred.

  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise updates.

  • Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently while maintaining alignment with team priorities.

  • Ability to thrive in a structured, process-driven environment.
