Sales & Business Development Executive

As a Sales & Business Development Executive, you will be the driving force behind PayMongo's expansion within the retail and in-store market, with a specific focus on accelerating QRPH adoption and driving growth in key commercial areas like Greenhills and similar hubs. You will be the face of our company in the field, building relationships with key retail partners and empowering them with our cutting-edge payment technology. Your expertise in field sales, merchant acquisition, strategic partnership development, and understanding of the unique dynamics of retail environments will be crucial in achieving our ambitious growth targets.
You will be responsible for:- Targeted Merchant Acquisition (Greenhills & Similar Hubs): Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy specifically tailored to the unique characteristics of Greenhills and similar retail/commercial environments. Conduct extensive market research to identify key decision-makers and potential high-value merchants within the target areas. Proactively generate leads through cold calling, networking, in-person visits, and participation in local events. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads within the designated geographical focus. Forge strategic alliances with key players in the retail ecosystem, including point-of-sale (POS) providers, retail associations, and local business networks.
- End-to-End Sales & Onboarding: Lead merchant onboarding, ensuring a seamless transition to QRPH payment acceptance and increasing transaction volumes. Provide comprehensive training and support to retail merchants on the benefits and usage of QRPH. Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement incentive programs to drive QRPH transaction volume.
- Relationship Building & Merchant Success: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key retail accounts and small to medium-sized enterprise merchants. Act as a trusted advisor, providing ongoing support and guidance to help merchants maximize the benefits of PayMongo's solutions. Identify and capitalize on upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing retail partnerships.
- Product Expertise & Education: Become a PayMongo product expert, staying up-to-date on new features and functionalities. Educate merchants on the nuances of PayMongo's platform, demonstrating how it can streamline their operations and drive revenue growth.
- Sales Performance, Data Analysis & Feedback: Work closely with merchants and various cross-functional teams to analyze transaction trends and optimize payment strategies for better revenue performance. Track and analyze sales performance metrics and provide feedback from the field to the product team.
- Performance & Reporting: Meet and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide regular reports on sales activities, pipeline progress, and merchant feedback.
- Proven track record in sales and business development, preferably within the payments or technology industry.
- Strong understanding of the Philippine retail landscape, particularly in areas like Greenhills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport and establish trust with diverse merchant audiences.
- Results-oriented and highly motivated, with a strong drive to achieve targets.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in the acquisition of many small to medium-sized businesses.
- Familiarity with in-store payment solutions and POS systems is a plus.
- Experience in a fast-paced startup environment is a plus.
