Safety Officer & HR Specialist (Cebu - 12 Months Contract)

The People & Places Specialist/Safety Officer is responsible for overseeing a wide range of human resources activities while ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves conducting safety orientations, implementing safety training, and managing onboarding processes. The position also requires compliance with government regulations and active participation in health and safety committees.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support in Operations and guidance on policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that company processes and guidelines are consistently implemented.
  • Establish and maintain good relations and influence positive company culture.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and implement all Human Resources activities, including employee engagement and relations, compensation and benefits, and performance management.
  • Receive, process, and respond to day-to-day employee concerns and coordinate with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Maintain compliance with local employment laws and regulations.
  • Ensure timely escalation and updates on operational matters to minimize risks.
  • Conduct safety orientations for newly hired employees, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Recommend facilities and process improvements based on safety assessments.
  • Conduct health and safety training programs for employees.
  • Implement and promote occupational safety and health programs.
  • Investigate accidents as a member of the health and safety committee and submit reports and analyses to management.
  • Maintain an efficient accident record system and coordinate actions to eliminate accidents.
  • Ensure compliance with all government reports such as DOLE Registration Reports and work-related accident reports.
  • Report unsafe conditions and practices and recommend corrections.
Qualifications
  • Based in Cebu area.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a combined HR and safety role, preferably within a corporate or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of local employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Knowledge of occupational safety and health standards and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
