Based in Manila or Cebu, depending on the requirements, and reporting to the Finance Services Team Lead (TL) – Tax, under the GSSC Enterprise Services (ES) tower.

This role will assist the TL and the Finance Services Operations Manager – Tax (OM) in ensuring that QBE's tax compliance and reporting obligations are satisfied for all applicable taxes depending on the tax jurisdiction of that country (e.g., income tax, indirect taxes, etc.) for Group and/or its divisions. Responsibilities include assisting with tax audits and providing ad-hoc tax advisory to the broader QBE business, focusing on high complexity and urgent tasks, and/or first-level review roles, as applicable.

Responsibilities
  1. Act as the main preparer for various tax return/compliance tasks.
  2. Prepare working papers, tax returns, and reports within the agreed deadlines.
  3. Prepare clearing journal entries for assigned tax accounts or transactions, as applicable.
  4. Perform the preparation and review of periodic tax requirements such as monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns.
  5. Conduct tax and accounting variance analysis and reconciliation, including:
    1. Beginning Balance Reconciliation
    2. Matching and reconciliation of tax balances across reports (e.g., GL/SL Oracle balances to underwriting systems)
    3. Testing for accuracy and completeness of tax bases and rates
    4. Ageing of Unreconciled Items
    5. Follow-up on outstanding transactions with counterparts
    6. Complete Blackline reconciliations
    7. Review comments and undertake required actions
    8. Coordinate with counterparts and report reconciliation statuses

The above responsibilities are not exhaustive and may include additional tasks outside the employee's normal scope.
