Overview

Finance Services Analyst - Insurance Accounting at QBE Insurance. This role provides support to accounting and reporting activities by managing day-to-day financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations and policies.

Responsibilities
  • Process financial transactions, analyse data, prepare reports, and assist with budgeting to align accounting activities with government regulations and corporate standards.
  • Review and process invoices, resolve payment queries, and ensure accuracy of financial data for the service company.
  • Document processes in a standard format and maintain accessible records.
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements to meet financial obligations.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining accurate accounting records to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Refine processes and procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Assist with special investigations/projects on commercial accounting issues as required.
  • Participate in internal meetings to share strategy, knowledge, and best practices.
  • Assist with credit control aspects of the business.
Experience

Necessary Work Experience includes: Some relevant work experience in a similar finance or accounting role.

  • Preferred: Accounting experience within a complex financial services organisation.
  • Audit experience preferred; Big 4 background is an advantage.
  • Experience in the insurance industry is desired but not essential.
  • Experience in accounts payable and general accounting procedures.
  • Experience using Oracle Financials or similar ERP system.
  • Proficient in data entry and management.
  • Experience in Treasury or Settlements is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in people management and accountability for own workload.
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Current or pending accountant certifications.
Travel

Travel frequency: Infrequent (approximately 1-4 trips annually).

Physical Demands

General office environment; ability to stay stationary, operate basic office equipment, and lift up to 20 lbs as needed.
