Job Description

As a Senior AU Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, overseeing compliance with accounting standards, and leading the month-end and year-end closing processes. Your expertise in financial reporting, reconciliations, and process improvements will drive efficiency and accuracy within the finance department.

Employment type: Full-time

Shift: Day Shift (Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Weekends Off)

Work setup: Hybrid, Ortigas (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH)

The Qualifications We Seek

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Australian accounting experience.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software; experience with Xero or similar systems is highly regarded but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial compliance.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and Word.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of financial risks and controls.
  • Ability to conduct financial analysis and identify trends and anomalies.

Your Daily Tasks

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions.
  • Prepare and submit customer invoices for management approval.
  • Monitor overdue accounts and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Generate reports on accounts receivable and payable, including reconciliation with partner payment portals.
  • Coordinate with vendors to resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Conduct daily bank reconciliations in the accounting system.
  • Process weekly accounts payable payments and upload transactions to the banking system.
  • Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including variance analysis to budget.
  • Assist with tax filings and audit preparation.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff as the team grows.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements within the finance department.
  • Assist with cash flow management and forecasting.
