Overview

The Business Analyst will play a key role in delivering projects and managing software and system changes within the Commercial Airline Technology team. Responsibilities include gathering and documenting requirements, designing solutions, coordinating with development teams and vendors, validating and testing system updates, overseeing implementation and organizational changes, and supporting cutover activities. Working under the guidance of the Project Manager, Delivery Lead, and Product Owner, the analyst will contribute throughout the project lifecycle and may also handle business-as-usual tasks and support critical application issues when escalated.

Roles and Responsibilities

Systems Implementation and Delivery

  • Oversee software change delivery and implementation planning, coordinating with stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors.
  • Support major airline technology projects with business analysis and application configuration.
  • Ensure outcomes follow governance and best practices, facilitate stakeholder meetings, escalate issues as needed, transition projects to operations with proper documentation, and gather feedback to evaluate project effectiveness.

Requirements Analysis

  • Gather and document clear business and functional requirements, acting as the link between business and technical teams.
  • Liaise with vendors, validate processes, and perform gap analysis to ensure complete and accurate solution delivery.

Solutions Design

  • Review requirements and recommend solutions aligned with Jetstar IT standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design, document, and validate systems, ensuring interdependencies and constraints are identified.

Quality Assurance & Testing

  • Define test scope, support UAT, and ensure changes align with design and IT standards.

Change Management

  • Assess and document system changes, manage risks, and ensure compliance with Jetstar and IT policies.

Process & Documentation

  • Maintain process documentation, promote standard procedures, and update team knowledge and templates.

Systems Support & Operations

  • Provide backup support to the systems team, help resolve issues within SLAs, escalate as needed, and assist with critical application support, including 24/7 on-call duties.
Required Skills
  • Experience in Airline reservation systems (e.g. Navitaire New Skies), Digital systems (B2C/B2B websites, mobile), Distribution systems (GDS/Codeshare/Interline/API), Payment systems (Payment gateways/portals), and Departure Control Systems (e.g. Navitaire).
