Position Title:

Head, Commercial Credit Division

Job Summary:

Plans, supervises, and directs the activities of the division, including evaluating credit proposals from the Marketing Group, domestic and international branches, subsidiaries, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations (BSP). Also includes validation and correction of financial spreadsheets prepared by lending units for the Default Filter.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Handles second-tier evaluation for various branches and units, including Marketing Divisions 1-3, Visayas branches, MM 3, 12, 13 & 14, International branches, and select commercial centers.
  • Ensures credit assessments meet the Bank's quality standards.
  • Ensures that Credit Review and Portfolio Management teams are well-trained and equipped for quality assessments.
  • Manages performance and development of staff.
  • Monitors credit portfolios, including financial and business performance assessments for challenged credits.
  • Ensures appropriate credit risk ratings and classifications are maintained.
  • Maintains oversight of credit portfolio and performs credit calls with IBS partners.
  • Handles talent acquisition, retention, and performance management.
  • Manages performance of the CSU - CREAD.
  • Prepares queries to Law Division, Operations Group, etc., regarding evaluated proposals.
  • Initiates policy reviews and amendments through the Operations Committee.
  • Supervises preparation of reports and documentation for Board and Credit Committees.
  • Certifies approvals for credit lines and standby letters of credit, ensuring compliance with policies.
  • Ensures proper notification and inclusion of proposals in NPAC agenda.
  • Prepares inputs for ALCO and other meetings.
  • Affixes final signatures on credit approvals and related documents.
  • Performs other functions as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in middle-market commercial lending.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience managing teams.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Chinese is preferred.
