Description- The Purchasing Officer is responsible for supporting the Purchasing Department's operations by collaborating with the Officer-in-Charge of Purchasing Department. The role focuses on vendor management, procurement, and inventory control, ensuring that supplies are ordered and delivered in a timely manner to meet the company's operational needs. This position requires strong organizational skills, vendor negotiation, and the ability to work across departments to maintain inventory and supply levels efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the smooth operation of the Purchasing Department alongside the Purchasing Officer I and the Corporate Purchasing Supervisor.
- Conduct vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reduce operational costs, and boost departmental efficiency.
- Coordinate and manage requisitions for stocks and supplies from various departments.
- Order supplies and maintain suitable inventory levels for the organization.
- Organize and maintain the inventory system, identifying purchasing needs and stock requirements.
- Research and evaluate potential vendors to source the best options for the company.
- Track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of items and troubleshoot delivery issues as needed.
- Source hard-to-find stocks and supplies, identifying appropriate suppliers for specialized needs.
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders and Requisitions in accordance with company guidelines.
- Ensure the liquidation of acquired and purchased items within the approved company timeline.
- Collaborate with department supervisors and managers to fulfill supply and material needs for all departments.
- Maintain accurate and updated records of purchased products, delivery details, and invoices.
- Verify canvasses submitted by requesting departments to ensure the accuracy of orders.
- Manage the safe storage of purchased materials and supplies.
- Regularly communicate with suppliers to stay informed about the status of orders.
- Handle local purchases, including travel to suppliers within the Olongapo and/or Subic area to obtain necessary items for the resort.
- Ensure the proper documentation, storage, and handling of cash funds or equipment in your responsibility, adhering to company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management in response to the needs of the organization.
- Preferably can drive with License
- Graduate of any four (4) year course
- With at least 2-3 years of working experience in purchasing
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and purchasing software.
- Ability to travel locally or any point in Luzon for procurement purposes.
