Major Duties:
  1. Evaluate risk and sources of potential misstatement for significant processes.
  2. Maintain relationships with control owners to provide guidance on SOX program and requirements.
  3. Assist in developing presentations for Management and Audit Committee.
  4. Communicate and develop recommendations with partners at all levels.
  5. Partner with teams across the business to advance key initiatives.
  6. Perform activities with significant financial, client, or internal impact.
  7. Serve as a subject matter expert and manage operational activities.
  8. Maintain technical expertise and broader knowledge of related areas.
  9. Meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work with minimal revisions.
  10. Facilitate discussions and reach decisions independently.
  11. Ensure controls are in place across operations, services, and systems.
  12. Analyze information to identify control weaknesses.
  13. Adhere to Northern Trust Methodology and Department Standards.
  14. Stay current on SOX/SOC/CCAR regulations and industry changes.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Highly adaptable to change.
  • In-depth functional and industry knowledge.
  • Technical/system knowledge (e.g., Peoplesoft) preferred.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment across multiple time zones.
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Experience in financial services preferred.
  • Master's degree and professional certifications (CPA, CIA) are pluses.
