About the role:

As our client's SEO Manager, you'll be the powerhouse behind their SEO strategies. With your agency experience, you'll command projects, lead your team with confidence, and take full ownership of your role. Your proactive attitude and deep understanding of agency dynamics will set the stage for unparalleled SEO success.

People Management

  • Managers deliver success through empowerment and accountability by demonstrating, coaching, and supporting all members of the team.
  • Demonstration – Show the team how to execute the key tasks and embrace the systems and processes to ensure ongoing development for the team members.
  • Coach - Define team objectives and outcomes; Enable success across teams; Help the team adapt and learn.
  • Support - Attract and retain great people; Know each individual's capabilities and aspirations; Invest in the growth of others.
  • Identify capacity and capability gaps and work with the management team to plan for growth.
  • Weekly 1-to-1 meetings with all direct reports.

Internal Engagement & Communication

  • Through supportive engagement and delivery of SEO projects across the company, be seen as an approachable and open leader.
  • Lead & foster a culture of shared problem-solving across the group. Encourage and support other teams to learn and develop customer-facing SEO solutions skills.
  • Ensure regular communications and consistent updates across the different delivery and customer teams.
  • Cross-collaborate with delivery teams to achieve a common goal for specific clients.

Consistent & Predictable Execution

  • Work with the COO and other key leaders to define the SEO project plans and support required from other teams across the business.
  • Implement the project plans, processes, and tasks across the company to ensure alignment and a clear understanding of how we execute the SEO plans for different customers.
  • Define and implement the success metric for each project to ensure common goals with each customer.
  • Manage the team to ensure we are delivering quality work on time.
  • Seek support and help from other leaders in the company.

  • Alt tags
  • Backlinks
  • Competitive assessment
  • New site design and UX review
  • Page structure and UX where relevant
  • Local SEO best practice
  • Setting up goal tracking (GTM / Analytics)
  • Google Search Console and Google Analytics auditing

Innovation & Technical Updates

  • Build a process with the team to understand & evaluate industry changes
  • Evaluate the impact of algorithm and AI updates
  • Provide insights to the wider team on relevant industry updates
  • Identify and recommend new tools to help improve the HB's SEO model
  • Research and test new technology to ensure it is suitable for the customer base

What We're Looking For:

Comprehensive experience of:

  • Local SEO ranking factors
  • On-site and off-site ranking factors
  • SEO tools such as SEM Rush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog
  • Google Search Console, Analytics, Tag Manager
  • Agency Experience: 5+ years in SEO management within an agency setting, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects and driving client growth.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in mentoring and guiding SEO professionals.
  • Analytical Expertise: Proficiency in SEO tools such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar platforms, with a strong ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions.
  • Client-Focused: Experience in managing client relationships and delivering tailored SEO solutions that meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to develop and execute effective SEO strategies that align with both client and agency goals.
  • Exceptional Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and persuasively to clients and team members.
  • Passionate Attitude: A genuine passion for SEO and digital marketing, with a commitment to staying ahead of industry trends and continuously improving.
