About Our Client

Job Description

  • Design, build, and maintain Java applications with an emphasis on scalability and performance.
  • Work collaboratively within a distributed, cross-functional agile team to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Partner with other developers through pair programming, reviewing pull requests, and continuously enhancing code quality and development practices.
  • Lead code reviews and mentor junior engineers to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Take a leadership role in release management and team ceremonies such as planning sessions, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.
  • Write clean, well-structured code, balancing performance, reliability, and extensibility.
  • Provide production support through participation in the on-call rotation.
  • Understand and contribute to infrastructure as code practices.
  • Lead and engage in guild activities aimed at driving continuous improvement across the team.

Must-Haves

Technical Skills

  • JVM Expertise
    • Java (mandatory)
    • Kotlin (preferred but is not mandatory)
    • Spring Boot framework experience
  • AWS experience
    • Strong understanding of cloud services
  • Technical Decision Making
    • Skilled in evaluating trade-offs: correctness, robustness, performance, space, time
    • Experience influencing decision-makers across the organization
Team & Collaboration
  • Strong culture fit
    • Ability to mentor, coach, and collaborate
    • Some leadership experience preferred
  • Comfortable working on the operational side
    • Participation in PagerDuty or on-call rotations
Mindset
  • Product-centric approach
    • Understands how engineering decisions impact users and product outcomes

  • Exposure to data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows
