Client background Our client is a well-established Certified Public Accounting firm based in Monterey, California. With a team of experienced professionals, the firm offers high-quality financial services to individuals and businesses. Specializing in Tax Preparation, Estate and Trust Administration, and Small Business Accounting, the firm delivers personalized and reliable solutions tailored to each client\'s needs. Their professionalism, responsiveness, and quality underpin long-term client relationships. Duties and responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounting processes Perform bank reconciliations Prepare financial statements and balance sheets Review financial statements as needed Handle accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and payroll Work with both accrual and cash basis accounting Prepare 1099 forms and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, with a strong background in US-based firms Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop (QBO Certification is highly desirable) CPA certification or working toward it Willingness to grow and learn continuously Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience with Canopy, Karbon, or similar practice management software Additional requirements Client-provided equipment Reliable, stable high-speed internet Work environment: secluded workstation to ensure privacy and minimal distractions Description of ideal candidate Easy-going and friendly — possess a warm and approachable demeanor and a positive, cooperative attitude with colleagues and clients Engaging team player — brings positivity and strong collaboration to the team Growth with the team — values collaboration, mutual support, and shared success Curious and proactive — asks questions to gain clarity and contribute effectively Are you the Accountant we’re looking for?
