Direct Seeded Rice Operations Supervisor

Operations Manager (Agricultural Sector) Bayer Taguig, National Capital Region, Philippines JOB MAIN PURPOSE Reporting to VP, Head of CX & DNV Asia and dotted line to the Rekta Ektarya Philippines Lead, the Direct Acres Operations Supervisor will lead pilot initiatives and the scale‑up of Direct Seeded Rice – Rekta Ektarya – in the Philippines through customized offerings, in collaboration with commercial teams, cross‑functional partners, and relevant government or industry stakeholders. YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Ownership Co‑own the vision and roadmap for Rekta Ektarya in the focused geography, with plans to expand nationwide across the Philippines. Execution & Scale‑Up Lead the implementation of Rekta Ektarya in pilot geographies and drive commercial scale‑up in identified areas with target acreages. Execute Rekta Ektarya using differentiated go‑to‑market (GTM) approaches tailored to key geographies. Workstream & Resource Planning Develop geography/cluster‑specific workstreams for Rekta Ektarya rollout. Allocate necessary resources and plan digital/physical training under various platforms. Digital Implementation wherever applicable Oversee the deployment of digital interfaces for farmer registration & data recording (from sowing to harvest). Monitoring and analysis of the data. Stakeholder Alignment Coordinate with the commercial team on Rekta Ektarya activities—from farmer engagement and activation to linking channel partners for package/kit distribution. Propose ideas to make the package more appealing to both farmers and channel partners. Collaborate with the mechanization team or service providers to ensure timely delivery of sowing and spraying services. Agronomic Support Ensure the delivery of agronomic packages to all registered farmers through printed materials or digital platforms such as Facebook groups, text messages, and Farmrise. Conduct regular follow‑ups using dedicated resources and verify the proper execution of the agronomic package. Carbon Project Integration Facilitate linkage and enrollment of Rekta Ektarya farmers into the Bayer Carbon Project as needed. Monitoring & Reporting Lead bi‑weekly reviews of project progress and update stakeholders accordingly. Monitor for potential issues (e.g., weed escapes, poor germination) and coordinate rapid response to farmer complaints. Farmer Engagement & Documentation Document the Rekta Ektarya adoption journey during farmer enrollment, including convincing factors, concerns raised and feedback on packages for continuous improvement. Partnership Development Work closely with external stakeholders and partners to scale the Rekta Ektarya system across the country. YOUR KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Strong background in agriculture, agronomy, or rural development. Graduate in Agriculture or Business (management education and agronomic knowledge on rice is an advantage). 3–5 years of experience in agriculture/rural industry and government stakeholder engagement. Experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and digital tools. Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive field execution. Passionate, collaborative, and able to work independently to deliver results. Adaptable to changing landscapes with a venture mindset. Strong analytical abilities, communication skills, leadership qualities, and a positive attitude. Ability to network effectively across Bayer functions and with external agencies.
