Government Mandated Benefits. What You’ll Be Doing You’ll be reporting directly to an Australia-based manager. As the Management Accountant, you’ll be at the heart of driving financial success by managing day-to-day operations, project costs, and cash flow, while collaborating with engineers and project managers to achieve budgets, milestones, and overall project excellence. Your key tasks will include Transactional Finance: Manage AP/AR, banking, petty cash, reconciliations, and collections. Prepare BAS/IAS, payroll tax, and super reporting with accuracy and compliance. Project Costing & Margin: Build job costing frameworks, track budgets vs. actuals, manage WIP/revenue recognition (AASB 15), and deliver actionable margin insights. Cash Flow & Working Capital: Maintain 13-week cash flow forecasts, align billing to milestones, manage retentions, and optimize DSO/DPO. Month-End & Reporting: Close month-end (WD3–WD5), prepare journals and management packs, and lead budgets and forecasts to support business growth. Business Partnering & Systems: Reinforce timesheet and PO discipline, lead finance huddles, and continuously enhance Xero and job-costing systems. What You’ll Bring CPA or CA qualification. 5+ years’ experience in management accounting with end-to-end AP/AR and BAS in engineering, construction, manufacturing, or project-based services. Strong WIP, progress claims, retention, AASB 15 knowledge; solid grasp of Australian compliance (GST, PAYG-W, STP, super, payroll tax). Advanced Excel and experience with the Xero suite.
