Education & Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Nursing, or Biosciences) with Anatomy/Physiology as a subject.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) – required prior to hire or job transfer (all specialties accepted).
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) – required prior to hire or job transfer.
  • Additional certifications such as RHIA/RHIT are preferred.
Requirements
  • Experience in E&M Specialty Coding for outpatient, inpatient, observation, and critical care facilities using ICD, CPT, HCPCS codes, and modifiers.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in medical coding/auditing, preferably in E&M inpatient and/or outpatient medical record review, coding, and reimbursement; additional specialty experience is a plus.
  • At least 1 year of experience in team handling is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10 CM/PCS and CPT coding , as well as prospective payment systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Windows operating systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines amid frequent regulatory changes.
  • Capable of generating clear audit reports for management review.
  • Excellent people management skills and the ability to foster positive, productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the coding services team.
  • Ensure 100% productivity and quality in line with client requirements.
  • Optimize team utilization based on workload, attendance, and attrition.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement corrective measures.
  • Drive process improvements and operational efficiency.
  • Support coders by discussing complex cases, providing guidance, and liaising with company and client leadership.
  • Participate in client calls and relay updates to the team.
  • Maintain trackers and communicate trends or changes to the team.
  • Provide coaching and feedback on common error patterns.
  • Review claims denied or rejected for coding, documentation, and clinical validation.
  • Prepare management reports and identify coding trends.
  • Conduct retrospective and scheduled audits of individual coders.
  • Facilitate regular feedback sessions and one-on-one discussions with team members.
