Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our finance team. The role is fast-paced and requires a high degree of autonomy, precision, and accountability. You will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, supporting compliance, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. Experience in high-volume claiming environments, particularly within medical insurance or NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) claims, will be highly regarded. Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations. Prepare and process claims accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with NDIS and medical insurance requirements. Maintain accurate financial records in Xero and support data integrity across Salesforce integrations. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Monitor cash flow, budgets, and forecasting activities. Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements and liaise with auditors as required. Identify process improvements to streamline finance operations. Provide timely financial insights and reporting to management. Skills & Experience Proven experience working as an Accountant in a high-paced claiming environment. Strong ability to work independently and autonomously while meeting deadlines. Proficiency in Xero (mandatory) and familiarity with Salesforce (highly regarded). Solid knowledge of general accounting principles and practices. Experience in medical insurance and/or NDIS claiming processes (preferred). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
