Associate Technical Director - Structures

Arcadis Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines

Role description

Associate Technical Director for structures to work with the growing team, alongside US counterparts, delivering structural designs for Transportation projects. The role requires familiarity with US standards (AASHTO and state DOT regulations) and experience in a Design-Build environment. Preference for a US Professional Engineer (PE) license from Georgia, Florida, or Tennessee.

Responsibilities
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary pursuit team to develop winning bids for projects
  • Manage and deliver single and multi-disciplinary projects, including Design-Build projects, using US design codes and software packages
  • Deliver concept designs, alternative technical concepts, detailed design, and construction phase support on Design-Build and other projects, including meeting requirements for structural design, BIM, CAD, and quantity estimation
  • Identify and implement opportunities to standardize and automate the design process to improve efficiency and quality
  • Deliver projects within schedule, budget, and quality expectations
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination among all team members
  • Oversee competency and quality through a robust Quality Management System, and ensure timely submission of deliverables
Resource acquisition & team development
  • Identify resource needs for pursuits and projects, and contribute to strategic resource acquisition plans
  • Coordinate with other departments or external partners to acquire resources
  • Mentor the team to develop capacity and capability; set growth targets and drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with US offices and senior leadership to develop growth roadmaps and improve team performance
Qualifications & Experience
  • Master’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 12 years of experience on international multi-disciplinary projects in Highway, Rail, Civil & Structural, Metro, and Infrastructure domains
  • Experience in a senior structural engineering role with 10+ years on international projects for highway/railway bridges, including design-build tasks
  • Proficiency in written communication and ability to create project communications
  • Familiarity with AASHTO codes, multiple DOT regulations, US construction industry, and Arcadis services
  • Knowledge of structural analysis tools (e.g., MIDAS, SAP2000, LEAP Bridge Concrete)
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and strategic decision-making skills
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse disciplines and support resource acquisition
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license from Georgia, Florida, and/or Tennessee preferred
  • Commitment to Arcadis Values and Health & Safety stewardship
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and delivering large-scale US projects from Global Excellence Centres
