Your Role as a Billing Specialist As a Billing Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the tax preparation process through accurate documentation, client communication, and data management. Your responsibilities will include: Making outbound calls (0–5+ per month) to follow up with clients on missing or unclear documentation via phone, email, or other communication platforms. Preparing and reviewing tax organizers to collect information required for filing various tax returns (1040 individual, business, amended, and state returns). Assisting Tax Preparers in verifying income accuracy by reviewing IRS Transcripts. Reviewing and organizing client-submitted documents (W2s, 1099s, expense records, etc.) to ensure completeness and accuracy within each case file. Collaborating with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate tax return preparation. Entering client data into tax software accurately and efficiently. Checking tax return files for completeness, including verifying all required signatures before submission to IRS/state agencies. Performing other related tasks as assigned by management. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Prior experience in the finance industry, medical billing/authorizations, or similar fields. Proven ability to handle outbound communication (calls, emails) with clients. Proficient in Microsoft Office, G-Suite, and general computer operations. Strong English communication skills, attention to detail, and a high level of accountability. Willingness to work onsite in MOA on a night shift schedule. Preferred Skills and Experience Background in medical billing, medical authorizations, or previous work in finance. Experience in the tax industry (a plus, but not required). Excellent multitasking, time management, and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy. Self-driven, motivated, and capable of working independently. Able to maintain focus and productivity in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrates a strong work ethic and dedication to excellence.
