Job Description

  • Database Administration:
    • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of SQL and MongoDB databases.
    • Ensure optimal database performance, security, and availability.
    • Monitor database health and proactively address potential issues.
    • Perform regular database backups and recovery procedures.
    • Optimize database queries and indexes to improve performance.
  • Database Security:
    • Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data.
    • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
    • Enforce data access controls and monitor user activity.
  • Database Performance Tuning:
    • Analyze database performance metrics and identify bottlenecks.
    • Implement performance tuning techniques to optimize query execution.
    • Monitor database resource utilization and adjust configurations as needed.
  • Database Migration:
    • Plan and execute database migrations to new hardware or software versions.
    • Minimize downtime and data loss during migration processes.
  • Data Integration:
    • Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to integrate data from various sources into the database.
    • Ensure data consistency and integrity across different systems.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • Diagnose and resolve database-related issues promptly.
    • Troubleshoot performance problems, data corruption, and security breaches.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator.
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL and MongoDB database systems.
  • Strong understanding of database concepts, including normalization, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, PowerShell).
  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Database).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
