Job Overview
Senior Payroll Associate role at 2X based in Pasig, National Capital Region, Philippines. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of end-to-end payroll for employees in the Philippines. This role requires in-depth knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements in the Philippines’ jurisdictions, including government-mandated benefits, loans, and year-end reconciliation. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with all relevant laws and company policies, maintain data privacy and provide exceptional support to employees regarding payroll matters.
Key Responsibilities- Process end-to-end payroll for Philippine employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
- Administer government-mandated benefits and deductions for the Philippines, including SSS (Social Security System), Pag-IBIG Fund (HDMF), PhilHealth, and BIR requirements.
- Manage SSS loan and Pag-IBIG loan applications, deductions, and remittances, including MP2 contributions.
- Apply knowledge of SSS Maternity Benefit and Sickness Benefit computations.
- Prepare tax-related documentation such as the BIR Alphalist, BIR 1601C, BIR 2316, and BIR 1604-E in compliance with Philippine tax regulations.
- Ensure timely remittance of payroll taxes, social security contributions, and other statutory obligations.
- Prepare final pay and year-end tax reconciliations; participate in statutory audits and support audit readiness for payroll matters.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws and regulations in the Philippines and implement changes as required.
- Ensure compliance with payroll data privacy and security requirements.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions.
- Coordinate with HR, external vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless payroll operations.
- Prepare payroll-related reports and analytics for management as needed.
- Support cross-border payroll coordination and multi-country payroll platform operations as required.
- Identify and implement process improvements in payroll operations to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in payroll processing, with hands-on experience in both Philippine and Malaysian payroll.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine payroll processes, including SSS, HDMF, PhilHealth, BIR, SSS loans, HDMF loans, MP2, and Alphalist.
- Familiar with eFPS, eBIRForms, My.SSS, Pag-IBIG Virtual, and PhilHealth portals.
- Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic accounting knowledge, including GL reconciliation and payroll journal entries.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Certification in payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional, Payroll Specialist Certification) is an advantage.
- Experience working with multinational companies or global payroll providers.
- Knowledgeable in other payroll countries.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements in payroll operations.
