Overview

3Cloud is looking for an experienced Database Administrator who can manage multiple deadlines and varied customer requests. A strong OS background is preferred due to migration assessments and implementations. Experience with Azure is required, along with flexible and creative analytical skills to fit solutions to customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Work as a DBA for multiple customers, assisting with database migrations, high availability and disaster recovery solutions, SQL and Windows clustering, monitoring, backup/recovery, and performance tuning (including remediation of performance blockers).
• Manage multiple long-term database (Azure data services) projects simultaneously.
• Scope, plan, implement, document, and present solutions to customers.
• Provide cost-effective Azure platforms to meet customer requirements.
• Support Development, Test, and Production environments to meet customer requirements at each level.
• Assist with security definitions and roles for various users and support Azure Infrastructure team in provisioning data services in Azure.
• Manage client expectations regarding scope, cost, and timeline.
• Author high-quality project documentation and artifacts, including use-case based case studies.
• Mentor more junior teammates and deliver complex projects on-time and within budget, proactively mitigating gaps and risks.
• Expand knowledge in multiple tools and technologies and foster a collaborative problem-solving culture across the organization.
• Support internal 3Cloud objectives for data services design and techniques and assist the Sales Team on presales efforts where bandwidth allows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to work both strategically and tactically in different customer environments.
• Highly detail-oriented, self-directed, and capable of producing high-quality documentation for internal and external distribution.
• Multiple years working with a major RDBMS (Oracle/SQL Server); preference for Microsoft products.
• Experience with database migrations from different cloud platforms or on-premises to Azure.
• Moderate experience with OS clustering concepts and technologies; understanding of database security roles and implementation.
• Advanced experience with HA/DR technologies (Always On AG, Replication, Log Shipping, Mirroring), and with database objects/stored procedures, performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure solutions and IaC (Bicep or Terraform).
• Demonstrated ability to stay current with new technologies and their impact on 3Cloud offerings.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a virtual project team.

Additional Preferred Experience

• 2+ years designing and implementing data models for cloud and hybrid data warehouse environments.
• Experience implementing data architectures to support structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Experience delivering multiple full data warehouse lifecycles.
• Understanding of data architectures for data integration processing.
• Data modeling tools such as ER/Studio or ER/Win; Microsoft Azure Data Platform services (Azure Data Lake Store, Azure Storage, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Logic Apps, APIs).
• Data profiling and source-to-target mappings; ability to provision and configure Azure data service resources.
