Role description:

The role sits in GEC Urban Development and reports directly to the Discipline Director, with a dotted line to the Business Development Director. The candidate will be working with North America on a daily basis.

Role accountabilities:

  1. Overall verification and sign-off of milestone delivery of projects/tasks, liaising any concerns or developments with the region if needed.
  2. Ensure the delivery of projects/tasks within the team is in accordance with Management Systems to meet time, quality, and budget.
  3. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
  4. Engage with senior leadership in the region on technical matters.
  5. Develop and implement digital solutions for urban development projects, focusing on capability and development.
  6. Contribute to strategy and long-term requirements for skills and capabilities for the service discipline, based on identified gaps between current and future needs.
  7. Assist in building GEC competence and skills in line with future service and client needs to support growth, efficiency, effectiveness, and scale.
  8. Help develop technical leadership across GEC service disciplines to attract more work from countries.
  9. Collaborate with BIM and Design Automation Leads to support the development of automated solutions and digital tools.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Experience in preparing, reviewing, and updating urban design plans and civil engineering works for various projects.
  3. More than 15 years of experience working on civil projects.
  4. Strong English language skills with excellent communication abilities.
  5. Great interpersonal skills, including being a team player, eager to learn, and supportive.
  6. Availability to work abroad periodically.
  7. Knowledge of Civil 3D & Navisworks.
  8. Experience in 2D and/or 3D design of technical plans for residential or industrial areas.
  9. Experience in developing and implementing digital solutions for urban development projects.
  10. Understanding of North American standards regarding urban design.
