Overview

Job Overview
Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely compliance to tax and local government requirements of the Company. He/she is also responsible for the development and implementation of tax strategies and policies that will ensure the Company is in compliance with local and national tax laws and regulations. This person will also be responsible for monitoring and coordinating the compliance requirements of other departments and ensure these are complied with in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Compliance Management
    • Accurately and efficiently manage the tax compliance, tax planning and reporting of companies assigned under his/her jurisdiction
    • Ensure compliance to all government regulatory requirements i.e. BOC, BPI, DA, LGUs, BAI, FDA, etc. by working with relevant stakeholders
    • Reviews work output of members and ensures that content is correct, accurate, and in accordance with the specified work instructions of the relevant tax/compliance requirement
    • Manage outsourced tax service provider, if any, to effectively execute tax compliance / audit activities and prepares tax letters when necessary
    • Engage with relevant stakeholders such as Finance Controller and General Manager to provide regular updates on tax compliance
    • Work with relevant stakeholders in crafting policies and procedures with regards to recording/handling transactions that has tax implications
  • Corporate Governance
    • Proactively identify areas that may lead to tax issues and develop and implement process flows that will mitigate tax risks
    • Liaise with other department heads to ensure that all business operations are in line with government regulations
    • Implement and effectively manage legal compliance program
    • Represent the entity in internal or external meetings, compliance reviews, and audits related to governance matters
    • Prevent fraud, misconduct, and abuse by assessing Company operations to determine compliance risk and make recommendations to mitigate/eliminate the occurrence of such issues
