Job Overview

The Junior Accountant supports the accounting team in managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role involves assisting senior accountants with day-to-day accounting tasks, including financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and budget tracking.

Your Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Recordkeeping

  • Assist in preparing financial reports, including financial statements and budget performance reports.

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records for easy retrieval and compliance.

Accounting Operations

  • Post and process journal entries to record all business transactions.

  • Update accounts receivable, issue invoices, and follow up on overdue payments.

  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.

  • Process balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements in compliance with legal and company requirements.

  • Review expenses, payroll records, and other assigned transactions.

Audit, Tax, and Compliance Support

  • Assist with tax audits, tax returns, and other compliance requirements.

  • Prepare and submit weekly or monthly reports for internal and external use.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.

  • Collaborate with the accounting team to track performance against budgets.

System & Process Management

  • Use bookkeeping software, spreadsheets, and databases to organize financial data.

  • Ensure financial information is accurate, updated, and readily available.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency.

Collaboration & Confidentiality

  • Work closely with senior accountants to compile and analyze financial data.

  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.

  • Assist with ad-hoc accounting projects as needed.

What our Client is Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • At least 2 years experience in Accounting, Finance roles.

  • Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAP) is a plus.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
