Strategic Sourcing Business Partner (Mandarin Speaker) - Partnerships, SCommerce Shopee Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines Overview The Strategic Sourcing Business Partner plays a pivotal role in unlocking high-value opportunities across all major procurement categories in SCommerce. This role focuses on developing and executing sourcing strategies, expanding the vendor network, and driving negotiations and supplier development to enable business growth and continuity. This is an exciting opportunity for Mandarin-speaking professionals to develop their sourcing expertise in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. Job Description Market Research & Vendor Intelligence: Conduct in-depth market and industry research to identify alternative supplier options, benchmark pricing, and evaluate sourcing opportunities that improve cost and service. On-Demand Sourcing: Take ownership of sourcing activities as needed - including identifying new suppliers, studying material specs during exploratory sourcing, requesting quotations, and leading negotiations - to ensure continuity and cost-efficiency across categories. Material Forecasting & Planning: Collaborate with internal teams to forecast material requirements and enable proactive procurement planning to support warehouse and operational needs. Reordering Governance: Oversee re-order volumes raised by warehouse material requirement planners to ensure alignment with procurement SLAs, minimum order quantities, and cost optimization practices. Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Operations & Account Management: Manage the end-to-end P2P cycle for assigned categories – including sourcing, negotiation, purchase requisition, order placement, delivery coordination, goods receipt, and accounts payable monitoring – to ensure smooth and cost-effective procurement execution. Business Partnerships: Build and sustain strong relationships with vendors and partners to ensure service consistency, alignment with business needs, and long-term collaboration. Conduct regular performance reviews to track service levels, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with fellow business partners across Governance, Strategy & Projects, Midmile Strategy, Logistics Operations, Assets & Liquidations, and Risks & Controls to align sourcing activities with enterprise risk standards and operational goals. Collaborate with other key teams including Operations Support, Operational Excellence, Expansions, Business Intelligence, Finance, and Warehouse Operations to ensure sourcing plans enable broader business strategies. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in any field Must be fluent in both Mandarin and English (written and verbal) Experience in logistics, fulfillment, or warehouse operations is a strong advantage Open to high-potential candidates with less experience but a strong strategic mindset and communication skills Proficient in MS Office and Google Workspace Strong analytical, sourcing, and negotiation skills Strategic thinker with sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills Proactive, confident, and assertive – takes full ownership of deliverables Willingness to travel to supplier sites, warehouses, and project locations as needed Employment details Seniority level: Mid-Senior level Employment type: Full-time Job function: Other Industries: Internet Marketplace Platforms and Technology, Information and Internet #J-18808-Ljbffr
