Assistant Accountant role at Global Payments Inc. Summary Performs a broad range of accounting functions with responsibility for accounting records in a small office or organization department. Assigns transaction codes to documents. Ensures documents being processed are included in the appropriate accounting period. Posts, balances, and closes subsidiary ledgers. Follows up on delinquent accounts receivable customers. Analyzes and verifies internal consistency, completeness, and accuracy of account documents and makes adjustments. Responsibilities Fixed assets and general ledger support Prepare journal entries, post balances, and close subsidiary ledgers Handle month‑end activities, ensure compliance with global closing timelines Analyze transactions, verify internal consistency, completeness, accuracy Communicate with colleagues for additional information, compliance, issue resolution Utilize systems (Ariba, Oracle Fusion, etc.) for fixed assets processes Understand connected processes (AP, prepayments, intercompany) and interfaces to GL Assist in monthly P&L analysis and balance sheet reconciliations Coordinate with other departments to verify transactions and business rationale Implement internal controls for validity and accuracy of accounting data Maintain complete and orderly files of accounting records for audit trail Prepare accounting schedules for internal and external purposes Support audit requirements and SOX control compliance Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or related degree Minimum 3 years combined experience in accounts payable, general accounting, and/or audit Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel Fluent in English (verbal and written) Preferred: Certified Public Accountant Preferred: Exposure to multinational operations Preferred: Experience with Oracle, SAP Ariba, automated expense tools Desired Skills & Capabilities Apply job skills and learn company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks Work on routine to semi‑routine assignments with limited decision‑making Receive detailed instructions, follow established procedures, work under close supervision Key entries into General Ledger (MS Dynamics) and MS Office #J-18808-Ljbffr
