Property Accountant

Nautical Staffing is seeking a US Property Accountant who will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle for real estate properties. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, supports property managers with operational insights, and upholds compliance with GAAP and company standards. The ideal candidate brings strong property accounting expertise, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams in a fast-paced real estate environment. Responsibilities: Perform full-cycle accounting for assigned properties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements in line with company standards and deadlines. Review property-level income and expense activity for accuracy, compliance with budgets, and ownership objectives. Collaborate with property managers and regional teams to provide financial insight and support operational decisions. Assist with annual budget preparation and forecasting. Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including prepaid expenses, accruals, and intercompany transactions. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and external reporting requirements. Support external audits, lender reporting, and investor requests as needed. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field At least 2 years of US property accounting experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting practices Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting Hands‑on experience with property management/accounting systems (e.g., Entrata, Yardi, or RealPage preferred) Experience in financial documentation and reporting support Ability to collaborate effectively with operations and accounting teams Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication skills Must be willing to work 9am – 5pm US Pacific Time Rate: $1,100/month Seniority Level Entry level Employment Type Full-time Job Function Accounting/Auditing and Finance Industries Business Consulting and Services #J-18808-Ljbffr
