Project Permits Coordinator

Purpose

The Project Permits Coordinator reports to the Project Logistics Manager and is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery and acquisition of permits from regulatory bodies. This role enables project teams to incorporate permit requirements into their planning and execution phases without delays. Additionally, the role involves managing risks related to permit applications and approvals in accordance with the Project Risk Management Procedure.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop plans and action sequences to secure necessary permits.
  2. Coordinate with the Base Business Permit Focal Point to determine permit requirements, vendor information needs, and application timelines.
  3. Maintain and update the Project Permit Database and provide progress reports to the project team.
  4. Integrate the permits plan into the Project Integrated Schedule to ensure visibility of permit triggers.
  5. Identify risks related to permit delivery and implement control and recovery measures.
  6. Collaborate with project teams, Base Business Permit Focal Points, and regulators to track permit progress.
  7. Serve as the Project Risk Coordinator for permits, ensuring the Project Risk Register is updated.
  8. Highlight critical risk statuses requiring attention.
  9. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Project Logistics Manager to support permit operations.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience in handling permits from regulatory bodies.
  • Strong planning and scheduling background, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
  • Proficiency in Primavera or other planning software is an advantage.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
  • Graduate of any discipline.
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Committed to continuous improvement.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience, ideally in the oil and gas or power industry as a Permit Coordinator.
