The Project Permits coordinator reports to Project Logistics Manager and its purpose is to ensure delivery and securance of permits from Regulators on time such that users of these permits in the project can integrate this requirement in their work upfront. The role ensures that no delay is attributed to permits. Moreover, the role is required to manage Project Risk effectively and efficiently associated with permits application and securance in accordance with Project Risk Management Procedure under the direction of the Logistics Manager

THE ROLE

  • Prepare plans and sequences of actions to secure the required permits.
  • Works with the Base Business Permit Focal Point to determine the number of permits required, information that is required to be passed over to vendors, and timing when to apply for the permits.
  • Maintains and updates the Project Permit Database and reports progress to Project team
  • Integrates Permits plan to Project Integrated Schedule such that there is visibility on when permits are triggered.
  • Identifies risks associated with Permit delivery and implements controls and recovery measures
  • Collaborate closely with project team, Base Business Permit Focal Points and Regulators to integrate information on permits progress
  • Functions as the Project Risk Coordinator ensure that Project Risk Register associated with permits is updated.
  • Highlights risk status that requires attention.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Project Logistics Manager to operationalize the permits.

THE INDIVIDUAL

  • Solid experience in dealing and handling of permits from Regulatory bodies
  • Excellent planning and scheduling experience culled from an Oil and Gas environment
  • Experienced in the use of Primavera or other planning software an advantage
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications
  • Self-directed and shows initiative
  • Graduate of any course
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience preferably in the Oil and Gas or Power Industry as a Permit Coordinator
