Desktop Support Engineer

Responsibilities include repairing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance; troubleshoot problems in a timely and accurate fashion; provide end-user assistance where required; investigation, diagnosis, resolution and recovery for hardware/software problems; escalate to 2nd level or 3rd level per Service Desk processes; manage service requests, software installations, new computer setups, upgrades, etc.

Qualifications
  • At least 1 year experience in IT Support
  • Open for project-based employment (1 year renewable contract)
  • Willing to work in Makati, Monday to Friday 7 AM to 4 PM
  • Willing to render OT during weekend/rest day if needed

What you will be doing
  • Provide technical assistance to client end-users
  • Troubleshoot workstation issues
  • Proactively monitor and report on client environments
  • Collaborate with Senior Engineers, Team Leads, and Project Managers to troubleshoot issues
  • Coordinate with engineering and project managers to ensure projects are on time
  • Maintain timely and accurate time logs with detailed notes
  • Maintain dependable and regular attendance in the call queue
  • Communicate daily schedules with team members and leaders
  • Ensure proper execution of software patching, backups, alerts, antivirus, updates, hardware monitoring, ConnectWise, TPAM, Kaseya, SSL certs, and software
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Other duties as required
What you bring to the table
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in supporting small/medium-sized businesses
  • Experience in supporting Microsoft 365
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Windows Server, Active Directory and Networking; hardware and software
  • Knowledge in structured cabling (nice to have)
  • Willing to work in Makati CBD on a night shift (temporary WFH setup)
Other Requirements
  • Fast, reliable internet connection (DSL, Fiber, or broadband) with minimum 10 Mbps; not mobile/broadband stick
