Overview

The Senior Statistician designs, plans, and executes the biostatistical components of clinical research studies. They are responsible for conducting advanced statistical analysis as specified in the statistical analysis plans (SAPs) and overseeing the integrity of study results. This role involves preparing the statistical sections of protocols, including sample size calculations, and providing key input into the design of clinical trials. The Senior Statistician will also mentor junior statisticians and programmers, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Develops statistical analysis plans (SAPs) and reporting specifications for clinical studies.
  • Prepares statistical sections of protocols, including sample size calculations.
  • Analyzes and interprets results from clinical studies using sound statistical methodology.
  • Performs and supervises quality control of data displays that show inferential statistics.
  • Reviews reports and underpins the results with statistical expertise.
  • Contributes to the development of and annotates shell data displays.
  • Ensures accuracy and compliance with CDISC standards (SDTM, ADaM).
  • Mentors and guides junior statisticians or programmers.
Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a statistician in the clinical research industry is required.
  • Proficient in SAS and/or other clinical data analysis software (e.g., R).
  • Strong knowledge of clinical trial development and processes.
  • Advanced skills in statistical and biostatistical analysis.
  • Ability to design, plan, and execute biostatistical components of clinical studies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone, and in writing.
  • Advanced computer skills and practical knowledge of MS Office.
