Job Description

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the various tax compliance and planning activities for the various tax clients it will be assigned to
  • Prepare/Review income tax returns, payments, necessary paperwork, and reports
  • Prepare/Review income tax returns for corporations (Form 1120), individuals (Form 1040), partnerships (Form 1065), nonprofits (Form 990), estates and trusts (Form 1041)
  • Manage and maintain the client's tax database
  • Assess and research difficult tax issues to identify solutions
  • Determine tax savings and recommend strategies to improve profits
  • Review junior staff work for accuracy and coach them on performance
  • Ensure you comply with regulations by forwarding required information to federal, state, and local authorities
  • Offer support and guidance during audits
  • Evaluate tax regulations and suggest policies that diminish tax burden
  • Keep track of industry trends and changes related to taxes
  • Prepare accurate quarterly and annual tax reports
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Senior level with US tax experience
  • With excellent background on either Individual or Corporate Income Tax for various US States
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge with accounting systems like Lacerte, Ultratax, CCH, OneSource, Karbon, QuickBooks Online and others
System requirements
  • Computer Processor: At least i5, 6th generation for both primary and back up computers
  • Computer Memory/RAM: At least 8.0 GB for both primary and back up computers
  • Internet speed must be running on a 20+ Mbps wired plan (at least 10 Mbps for back up)
