Overview

Our client, a multinational medical technology company, is in need of a Commercial Director to join their team. The Commercial Director will lead and grow the business operations of a business unit in the Phil affiliate. This role carries full P&L responsibility, overseeing all commercial functions including sales, marketing, business development, and customer success. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven leader with a deep understanding of the local market and a proven track record of driving revenue growth and market share, ideally from the healthcare industry (specifically from medical technology solutions, medical device or diagnostics companies).

The role will report to the Country Head and will lead a team of 20 people.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and execute the country’s commercial strategy aligned with regional and global objectives.
    • Lead annual planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes and strategic planning
  • Sales & Business Development
    • Drive top-line revenue and OP growth through direct and channel sales strategies.
    • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities and partnerships.
    • Identify channels and products that will drive future growth
  • Marketing & Brand Management
    • Oversee local marketing initiatives to strengthen brand presence and customer engagement.
    • Collaborate with regional marketing teams to localize campaigns and messaging.
    • Lead development and execution of stand-alone local plans to deliver Sales and OP targets
  • Customer & Partner Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external customers, partners, and stakeholders.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
    • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing commercial team.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes.
    • In charge of overall portfolio management, including but not limited to execution of on time product launch strategies, pricing, product life-cycle etc
    • Set marketing and sales KPIs, rewards and incentive programs as well as identify training needs
    • Ensure compliance with local laws and corporate policies.
    • Set and monitor distributor KPIs and ensure alignment of commercial strategies
Skills & Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive commercial leadership experience, ideally in the medical technology solutions, medical devices, healthcare industries.
  • Strong sales, marketing, business development, and customer success experience as a senior manager or director.
  • Strong understanding of the Philippine market landscape.
  • Proven track record in delivering revenue growth and managing P&L.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
