Responsibilities Provides support to any or all of the following production planning activities, in the form of data gathering, processing, coordination, and other related tasks as determined by the Team Leader, in order to achieve maximum possible revenue through optimal production plan. Preparation of the short‑term (7‑day) to medium‑term (1.5‑year) optimal production/generation planning of SNAP power plant assets with consideration of hydrological constraints, operating efficiency, simultaneous operation of power plant assets, ancillary services, generating unit availability and transmission line constraints. Develop and maintain an up‑to‑date energy and ancillary services (AS) optimization model (Water Value) for production planning and support to spot trading, including electricity supply and demand forecasting, plant availability forecasting, ancillary requirement forecasting, price forecasting, and utilization of dispatch optimization tool. Coordinate with the Trading Team, Commercial Operations and O&M groups to ensure proper execution of the production plan; work with Energy Economics on preparing monthly price forecast inputs for a 1.5‑year horizon. Coordinate with external counterparties (NIA, NGCP, DOE, ERC, etc.) to achieve planned production and ensure compliance with rules and regulations. Gather, analyze, sanitize and maintain data, and develop tools and methodology to improve the accuracy of forecasts and optimization. Schedule SNAP Plants maintenance outages and other activities, coordinating with Plant O&M, NGCP and related parties to minimize financial impact. Conduct research, simulations and studies to support production optimization and revenue maximization. Coordinate with NIA and NPC regarding irrigation and water use. Review and continuously improve operations systems, procedures, standards and policies (process automation). Supports maximum revenue from Ancillary Services by gathering data, processing, and coordinating tasks. Activities include Conducting optimization studies to maximize the value from SNAP generation assets and serve as a basis for direct ASPA contracting. Monitoring incidents of SNAP Plants AS non‑compliances and leading the resolution of such non‑compliances. Performing Ancillary Services billing and settlement reconciliations. Providing AS certification testing. Developing business case studies that deliver value to the organization. Performs trader functions that maximize revenue from spot energy and ancillary services trading, including Formulation, submission, and/or updating of AS and spot market offers in accordance with market rules and the group’s strategy. Planning and preparing ancillary service nominations in line with contractual obligations and strategy. Developing and recommending bidding and nomination strategies, improving existing strategies using historical market performance and relevant data. Coordinating with plant personnel, System Operators and Market Operators to achieve efficient trading and plant operations. Reporting and monitoring market status, competitor bid behavior, demand profile, transmission network status, plant outages, and general market outlook to respond to changes and maximize opportunities. Preparing, analyzing, and submitting regular reports on market trading results, revenue statements, and profitability, highlighting areas for dynamic improvement. Requirements Skills Basic knowledge and understanding of hydropower plant operations, power industry, WESM, forecasting and optimization methods. Computer literate with background in programming, excellent knowledge of MS Excel, and good communication skills. Strong analytical skills with high comprehension abilities. Experience Minimum of 1‑year experience in the electricity industry, hydropower plant operations, energy trading, market analysis, commercial planning, and/or production analysis. Education Degree in Engineering, Economics, or Mathematics. Preference for candidates with an Electrical Engineering degree.
