Senior Network Engineer – Role Overview

The Senior Network Engineer provides operational support for the global TaskUs Network environment, offering proactive and reactive support for all network hardware, software, and communication links. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Engineering and Implementations.

Responsibilities may include onboarding new clients, designing and implementing new offices, or integrating network technologies. This requires coordination with Demand or Project Managers and use of network management systems for documentation and implementation requests. Responsibilities include responding to ticket requests and incident notifications and resolving issues within Service Level Agreements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support to Project or Demand Managers based on requirements to integrate a network setup.
• Provide solutions to complex problems, with well planned documentation.
• Complete Preventative Maintenance activities, such as code updates and equipment updates.
• Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management and Capacity Management.
• Manage assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.
• Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support.
• Security and Audit compliance.
• Operational-related Moves, Adds, Changes, and Deletes (MACD).
• Adherence to Operational Standards.
• Compliance with Engineering Design Standards and established operational processes.
• Develop and maintain operational documentation, including updates to Engineering documentation due to changes, escalation procedures, and vendor contracts.
• Provide Root Cause Analysis for Network Events.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Technical Skills

• Networking Technologies: DNS, DHCP, VPN, Network Security, IP Routing Protocols
• Cisco Networking Technologies: Routing & Switching, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
• Cisco Wireless
• Meraki Wireless
• Palo Alto Firewalls

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years extensive experience in the support of Cisco Networking Technologies.
• Strong technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Practical technical knowledge of CISCO Networking Technologies.
• ITIL v3.0 or v4.0 preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• High level technology problem solving skills.
• Standing and sitting for sustained periods (at least 25%).
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Education / Certifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering Communications or equivalent experience. CCNA/CCNP certifications are required.

• Mostly WFH (RTO as needed)
