L3 NETWORK ENGINEER

  • Monitor network engineering performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
  • Monitor performance, system resource utilization, trending and capacity planning
  • Troubleshoot leased lines and monitor network-related problems for sites across the country
  • Take backup configurations of network equipment (e.g., routers, switches, FortiGate firewall) on a weekly basis
  • Monitor network using management tools like SNMP and PRTG
NON-NEGOTIABLE:
  • 4-6 years of experience
  • Handling firewalls (CISCO/FORTINET/PALOALTO) in current assignment
  • International client support experience
  • Actual experience with end-to-end network office configuration
  • Will oversee offices in Ortigas, Antipolo and Tarlac
Extensive experience and skills
  • Extensive experience in a network operation in security, LAN & WAN
  • Hands-on experience with CISCO networking equipment
  • Sound knowledge of routing protocols (e.g., RIP, RIP2, IGRP, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS)
  • Knowledge of switch functions, VLAN, HSRP, STP, VTP, VXLAN, VTEP
  • 3-6 years of experience in support and troubleshooting of network devices
  • Experience in production network environments with CISCO data devices
  • Good knowledge of L2/L3 protocols for IP networks (e.g., DHCP, DNS, VLAN, PPP, ICMP, ARP, NAT, QoS)
  • Knowledge of firewall administration and orchestration tools
  • Hands-on experience with proxies (Squid/MacAfee and/or Bluecoat)
Common skills
  • Take the lead in outage calls
  • Own and drive root cause analysis and permanent resolutions
  • Provide expertise as Network SME
  • Good communication skills
